The count down is on! Only 20 days until the Fall San Antonio 40 Days for Life. This year we are joining over 170 cities to pray together for an end to abortion making it the largest pro-life protest recorded to date! What a blessing we have to be a part of history and to see the beginning of the end of abortion in our great nation!
In order to make this Fall's 40 Days campaign a success I need your help. I have a wonderful board of directors who has been working very hard all summer in preparation for this fall's campaign but we are, after all, only 8 people. We need your help!!! Big things are happening here in San Antonio and the 40 Days for Life could help to make a huge impact on abortion in our city. Now is the time to stay strong in our efforts to make abortion unthinkable! Now is the time for you to get involved in this life saving effort! Now is the time to spread the word to our community that we will no longer stand by while innocent children are lost each week to abortion.
There are a total of 6 licensed abortion facilities in San Antonio but we will again focus our attention on the Planned Parenthood located at 104 Babcock Rd. Why Planned Parenthood, you say? Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortion in our city, performing about 120 abortions each month- a number that has greatly decreased since our involvement in peaceful, prayerful, protest on the public right of way sidewalk! They are the major focus of all 40 Days for Life campaigns across the nation and will remain our focus in San Antonio until they no longer perform abortions!
How can I help, you ask? Well I have the answer! There are a number a ways for you to be involved, two of which are the most pressing.
1: I need your help as an individual. I am asking again for everyone to commit to one hour each week in coming to the clinic to pray. Once again we will provide signs for you to hold and have a steady supply of water in the ice chest! Below is a look at the weekly schedule. You will see that there are many times available- so you have the pick of the lot! Please consider what time you can come to pray and let me know so I can put you on the schedule. The goal is to have at least 2 people for each hour. We are again asking that men cover the evening hours after 10pm- for the safety of all and peace of mind for our local police dept. If you, as a women, are coming with a trusted male friend or husband then feel free to come after 10pm.

2: I need the help of churches and organizations. We are again asking for "sponsors" of days. This year we are splitting the shifts up into two 12 hour sponsored times. We are asking for churches and groups to sponsor the daytime shift of 8am-8pm. We are then asking for Knights of Columbus councils and men's groups to cover the evening shifts from 8pm-8am. That means that when your group sponsors a day, all you need is 24 people to volunteer to come out to the clinic for 1 hour each (2 people per hour)! In the next week we will be sending out almost 400 letters to local churches. We only need 40 of those to commit to sponsoring one 12 hour daytime shift and 40 Knights of Columbus councils or mens groups to sponsor the evening 12 hour shift. I need YOU to step up for your church or organization and take a day to sponsor. All you need it the approval of your perpective priest or pastor or head of the organization and then you can get moving! I am more than willing to talk with anyone who has questions. I'm just a phone call, or e-mail away!!
Currently we have ALL the evening shifts available for sponsorship. We have 3 wonderful churches who have committed to signing up to sponsor a day- so Sep. 27th, Oct. 11 and Oct 18th are gone!! Praise God!
For those who may tell you that coming to the clinic in "inconvenient", especially in the night time hours, I would like to give you an answer for them. Tell them that "inconvenient" is just the word the the pro-choice proponents use to describe the lives of innocent unborn children. For anyone who has already been to the clinic to pray, recently or during last years campaign, knows that the sidewalk in addictive. Once you go out there you WANT to go back. As I was telling someone recently, that is the work of the Holy Spirit, putting the desire to go out there in our hearts. Listen to it- you can't go wrong with the Holy Spirit guiding you!
Finally, I need your help to spread the word!!!! I'm attaching a copy of the 40 Days for Life flyer. Make copies of it! Give it to everyone you know, whether it be at church, or work, or in the grocery store!!! Let the world know what you are involved in! Our kick off rally is Wednesday September 24th at 7pm in the parking lot of the Original Donut Shop and Tacos- just across the street from the Planned Parenthood at 104 Babcock Rd. Please send this e-mail to your family and friends inviting the to join our campaign and come to the kick off rally!
This Fall WILL prove to be very fruitful. Last year, during the 40 Days for Life Campaign, we helped to save the lives of 8 children and, since that time, an ADDITIONAL 14 children have been saved! With God on our side we can move mountains!! I need YOUR help in pushing that mountain called Planned Parenthood out of San Antonio!!
